Capstone Experiences
COE includes two types of activities designed to cap the educational experience of Brown students. One is a year-long project in entrepreneurship, and the other is the pursuit of an independent study. Both capstone experiences are supervised by faculty but require more initiative and self-motivation than other curricular endeavors. They are thus recommended for senior year.
In the Fall of 2007, the established ENGN 1930G/H year long course included a team focusing on social entrepreneurship. Expanding on this new development of the Capstone Project, SOC 1930 was introduced in the Fall 2009 semester as a Social Entrepreneurship Capstone option for students. This year-long course also fulfills the integrative senior experience requirement for the Organizational Studies track.
