Internship in Hong Kong

After a successful pilot program in the summer of 2010, COE expanded its international internships to Hong Kong. Our students work in a private equity firm, gaining practical experience in finance and exposure to work and deals in China and other Asian markets.

Here is what our interns had to say:

"While I was working for the private equities division, I became involved in multiple projects. My responsibilities were not limited to doing background research on these projects; I was able to absorb a lot of financial/entrepreneurial knowledge through performing financial analysis/modeling, or even site visiting and interviewing with the CEO of a company." —Lawrence Chung, Hong Kong intern, 2011

"[The best part of the internship was] working on active deals, which allowed me to see how the process really works.  I felt like my work often was really contributing to the projects."—Holly Hunt, Hong Kong intern, 2011

"I would definitely recommend this internship to future students. [The company] provided an excellent internship experience, mostly because it is a small firm and they really cared that I got a lot out of the experience. The small size of the firm meant that I worked very closely with my mentors, who, despite only being a couple years older than me, are clearly very important to the firm. There isn’t really any middle-management, so it is basically the senior partners, then my mentors and the interns. This meant that I could really see how my projects fit into the business and its goals instead of feeling like they were just busy work. Also, I was often given tasks that were clearly for my benefit and my benefit alone." —Erik Duhaime, Hong Kong intern, 2010

If you are interested in being considered for the internship in Hong Kong, complete and submit the application by December 15, 2011.
