Do I get academic credit or a salary for working in India?
No; you get the invaluable experience of adding an international dimension to your academic preparation while being exposed to the workings of the global marketplace.
What are the arrangements for this internship?
You will live and work in either Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, or Bangalore. You will have accommodations, meals, and transportation in India provided and paid for by the company for which you will be working. Brown will pay for your air travel, any required vaccinations and medications, visa, and health insurance. Obtaining a passport, as well as all spending money for incidentals and any post-internship travel, is the responsibility of the student.
What type of work will I do while in India?
This depends on the company and their needs and your interests and skills. The participating companies want to work with their interns to make the experience enriching. We encourage students to get in touch with their internship mentors prior to departure in order to introduce themselves, learn about mutual expectations, and to help shape their projects.
